NEW YORK- Last Saturday, the famed rock band Been Stellar played a gig at the Wayward Social in Brooklyn, and like the serious and committed publication that we are, a reporter was assigned to attend and record the event. I AM THAT REPORTER. To be frank, the whole thing was rather confusing. People were jumping, loud music was playing, and overall chaos ensued, which made it difficult to concentrate on the film that was being projected on the back wall.

(A note on the photo: the quality is meant to reflect the experience, "a fuzzy memory of a fun night")
I came to learn later that the film was “Knife in the Water,” a Polish film from 1962, nominated for the best foreign language film at the academy awards, and ranked number 61 in Empire magazine's "The 100 Best Films Of World Cinema" in 2010. Of course, I learned all this later. At the time, I was wondering what could possibly be so exciting about three people doing normal things on a boat. Actually, I’m still wondering that now. I guess it’s like the great Lyle Lovett said, "If I had a boat, I’d go out on the ocean. And if I had a pony, I’d ride it on my boat. And then we’d all go sailing, out upon the ocean. Me, on my pony, on my boat."
