Volume I, Issue I

On Sunday, October first, audiences worldwide rejoiced to once again encounter the long missed narcissism of Larry David. Back on HBO for a brand new, 10 episode season, Larry David and company are back, just as on the nose as before.

Room 202 held a live showing of the event, along with mango juice and a plethora of cheeses (Tomme du Père Antoine, Tomme de Grandmère Adrienne, Comté). After a delightful tasting, the group tuned into the critically acclaimed series. Sticking to his usual method of retroscripting, (not writing any lines, but rather mapping out each episode’s plot), Larry and his co-stars geniusly improvise each scene.

Being an uncultured swine, Sunday was my first exposure to the hit HBO series. Sure I’d heard the theme song, “Frolic”, in countless memes, but had never sat back and taken in an episode of Curb— as the enthusiasts call it.

Among the crowd that night was Film and Television major and long time fan of the show, Spencer Collantes, 18. Making an appearance halfway through the program, Ella Sinskey, 18, seemed to be uninterested in the 40 minute episode. Skyler Knapp, 18, thoroughly enjoyed the season premiere, stating “Larry David is a true talent. Hung, heroic, and hilarious.” All five residents of 202 were in attendance of course. Overall, it was most definitely a night to remember, and I’m sure 202 will be hosting a very similar event each Sunday for the next 9 weeks the show will be airing. Come by 202 next Sunday to catch the new episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
